STOCKMASTER® Cattle Prep and Cattle Prep 8 Minerals are brood cow minerals formulated to be fed 60 days before calving until the cows are again pregnant.
Trace Mineral Supplementation
The trace mineral ratios and quantity provided by STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep and Cattle Prep 8 Minerals are designed to meet the requirements of brood cows during the critical period from 60 days before calving until the cows are again pregnant.
Vitamin E
STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep and Cattle Prep 8 Minerals provide ample vitamins to support animal needs during this stressful period. Vitamin E is provided at 250 IU per head per day at a 4.0 ounce feeding rate.
Phosphorus
STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep Mineral contains 12% phosphorus and Cattle Prep 8 Mineral contains 8% phosphorus. Adequate phosphorus is important to support optimum reproductive efficiency. Cows consuming poor quality forage should be fed the 12% product and cows consuming good quality forage should be offered the 8% version. The use of a lower phosphorus supplement when indicated is environmentally and economically responsible.
Choice of Additives
Proper use of additives can improve animal performance; refer to the product tag for a specific claim. STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep Minerals are available with approved feed additives.

STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep Minerals are formulated to be fed at approximately 4.0 ounces per head per day. If STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep Minerals are offered free-choice, introduce them gradually over a 14 day period. Offer 3.0 to 4.0 ounces per head per day during this period to avoid over consumption.
Early lactation cows may desire more salt than that provided by STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep Minerals. Offer free-choice loose salt along with the mineral to cows in early lactation.
STOCKMASTER Cattle Prep Mineral intakes will vary. Estimate mineral consumption rates on a monthly basis. If intakes are greater than 4.0 ounces per head per day, offer more salt either free-choice or mixed with the mineral. If intakes are less than 4.0 ounces per head per day, decrease the amount of salt offered.
Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
Note: Individual mineral, trace mineral and vitamin requirements of cattle depend on stage of production (gestation or lactation), size and age of animal. Likewise, the mineral, trace mineral and vitamin content of forages depends on geographical location and stage of forage growth. Please consult your Hubbard Feeds sales representative if you have any questions about mineral supplementation.
This product, which contains added copper, should not be fed to sheep or related species that have a low tolerance level to copper.
