Ernie’s first-hand swine production experience gives him a valuable, unique perspective as he works with the rest of the swine technical team to develop products and programs that help our customers improve their profitability, reduce risk and make their lives easier. Ernie believes in the value of the research and is known for saying “the pigs will tell us the answer.”

Outside of work, Ernie’s interests include hunting, fishing, and helping his children with their 4-H livestock projects.  Fun fact: Ernie's wife Sharlie Hansen also works for Hubbard, as a research data specialist.  Ernie is passionate about raising his four children “with a farming, 4-H and FFA background as they are our future leaders.”
